Hi,

I hope everyone is having a relaxing summer and are looking forward to the new challenges that this academic year will bring. I will be thinking of all the children preparing for P1 and S1. I know how capable the children at “Gail Ashley School of Dance” are, and I am certain they will all thrive.

Dance classes start back on the 20th/21st of Aug, except for Preschool Kilmacolm & Junior 1 Kilmacolm who start back on the 27th of Aug.

I will also send over:

Terms & Holidays

Class times: Changes have been made to inter 2 classes in Kil and senior classes in NM.

Uniform Form – Available all year

Printing uniform Form- Available until 10th/11th September. (shorts are not yet available to purchase)

All uniform must be paid for when ordering. Thank you.

A few practical changes have been made to Inter class uniform but please don’t rush to purchase these items. Preschool and Junior 1 Tap shoes are no longer available in pink, so we will be using white.

Uniform must be correct for exams and shows. During class time I ask that children come with the correct shoes, all girls wear leotards (some of my older girls have got out of this habit, I will speak with them all in class), all long hair is tied back.

WEB PAGE

I am pleased to say my web page is nearing completion. Its has been a labour of love for me, as Web designer Craig Taylor has painful dealt with my limited knowledge of anything more advanced than pen and paper! More info to follow.

I will have to pay in full when securing the lanes, so please make a £10 deposit if you wish your child to attend. When deposit is received, I will add you to the outing “what’s app group” to acknowledge receipt of money. More info will follow once booking is made.

Pizza

Mac and Cheese

French Fries

Sandwich Platter

Chicken Nuggets

Ice cream

SCHOOL SHOW/ DRESS REHERSAL  24TH/25TH OF MARCH

In a quest to find a middle ground for both Kilmacolm and Newton Mearns dance school, I researched the new Paisley Town Hall…. It looks amazing. However, it will not be ready for our show in March. ☹ So for this year I have booked Johnstone Town Hall. It is also a newly renovated facility and I feel so grateful to get back to “in person” performances. We really did miss you all cheering us on this year at our “day of Filming”.

The plan is to have a dress rehearsal on Friday night. Preschool/ junior 1 children will perform their dances in the first hour then go home. The rest of the dance school will run the full programme thereafter.

On the Saturday there will be an afternoon performance and an Evening performance. Preschool will perform in the afternoon only, junior 1 will perform in the evening only. The rest of the dance school will perform in both. No classes will be on this weekend, Sunday will be needed for resting. ?

Please can all children interested in taking part in this year’s show make a deposit of £20 towards costumes. This will allow me to start getting this organised. I will acknowledge payment by adding you to the “whats app” group.

This year the show Theme will be “This is us”. We will be chatting with the children in class to find out what music they like, what ideas they have and generally collaborating to decide what we will do! I hope they will feel involved and excited about their school show. Fingers crossed I manage to keep them all happy! I am sure we will end up with a very full and diverse show.

I hope I have not overwhelmed everyone with too much information. Christina and myself are just very excited to get back to class, be more organised and have lots of fun times planned for our wonderful children.

Looking forward to seeing everyone very soon.

Gail xxx
